About Wendy
Wendy was born in La Habana, Cuba and came to the US as a child. She remembers attending an assembly at her Elementary School where a local High School Symphonic Band performed and was instantly inspired to learn how to play an instrument. She played flute for 6 years in her middle and high school symphonic bands and marching band before starting her Architecture degree at the University of Miami. While in college she continue to pursue her love of music by touring with the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle corps in the summer of 1997. After graduation, she practiced architecture for 3 years in Boston and in Miami before forming her own company in 2003. For 13 years her consulting firm provided design, drawing, presentations, and model building services for private clients, Architecture firms, and public institutions. She has supported the SFCPA behind the scenes since its conceptual stages in 2010, providing graphic and marketing materials and ultimately serving as designer and project manager for the construction of its facility in 2013. She joined the SFCPA full time in January of 2016. Now she uses her design, production, and project managing skills in an entirely new way to make music education and performance accessible to her community.
