About Juan
Juan Posso is a drummer, composer, and educator from Quito, Ecuador, now based in Miami. A Berklee College of Music graduate and current Doctoral candidate at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, he has performed at festivals across Europe, Asia, North, and South America. He leads the Juan Posso Jazz Trio, with recent performances in major Chinese cities including Shanghai, Ningbo, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xi’an. In Miami, he is active as a performer and educator, leading his own project, collaborating with the Raíces Latin Jazz Orchestra as a substitute drummer, mentoring through the Shalala Music Reach Program, and offering percussion clinics at Miami Arts Schools.
